Astros Pitcher Dismisses Concerns of Cubs-Like World Series Hangover

One of the biggest questions that dogged the 2017 Chicago Cubs was whether they were dealing with a World Series hangover, but at least one Houston Astros star doesn’t believe his team will suffer a similar fate.

That star, pitcher Dallas Keuchel, told the Washington Post this week that he isn’t worried about the same thing happening to his team, and his answer won’t likely earn him any admirers among Cubs fans.

“We’re not the Cubs,” he said. “I firmly believe we have better players.”

Some sites like Baseball Prospectus seem to agree with Keuchel’s point of view. The Astros are projected to win 99 games, most in baseball, while the Cubs are projected to win 92 this season.

Last year’s Cubs got off to a sluggish start and trailed the Brewers for much of the season in the National League Central, but a late surge propelled them into the National League Championship Series for the third consecutive year.
