Cubs, White Sox Reveal Spring Training Workout Dates

For fans looking to see the two teams play against one another, they’ll have two chances

For fans of the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs, it may feel like Opening Day is still eons away, but we have some news that should warm your hearts.

On Monday, Major League Baseball announced the dates that all 30 teams will be reporting to their respective spring training facilities. The earliest dates belong to the four teams (Cincinnati, Philadelphia, St. Louis, and San Francisco), who will all begin workouts on Feb. 18, but the Cubs and White Sox won’t have to wait much longer after that.

The White Sox will get things underway first when they hold their first workout for pitchers and catchers at Camelback Ranch on Feb 19. Their first full squad workout will take place in Glendale, Arizona four days later on Feb. 23.

The White Sox will play in their first Cactus League game of the spring on March 2 when they take on the Angels at Camelback Ranch.

As for the Cubs, they’ll arrive at Sloan Park in Mesa for their first workouts on Feb. 20, with the full squad arriving to begin workouts on Feb. 24. Their first game of spring training will take place on March 3 when they travel to Maryvale to take on the Brewers.

For fans looking to see the two teams play against one another, they’ll have two chances, with the Cubs hosting the White Sox at Sloan Park on March 12 and the Sox playing the role of host on March 18.
