The Cubs, who limped back home after a 3-6 road trip, saw their bats come alive all weekend long, culminating with seven runs against Brewers pitching on Sunday. Jason Heyward hit a home run and drove in three RBIs, and Kyle Schwarber blasted his 25th home run of the season in the victory.
Yu Darvish pitched five innings and allowed one run, striking out eight batters as he continued his recent run of fine form. Tyler Chatwood gave up an earned run in three innings of relief work and earned the save for the Cubs in the sweep-clinching victory.
The Cubs found themselves trailing early on as Christian Yelich hit a home run in the first inning, but from there the Cubs’ offense took control. Heyward hit a lead-off home run in the first inning to tie the game at 1-1, then followed it up with an RBI triple in the second to give the Cubs the lead.

The Cubs will look to continue their hot hitting on Monday when they welcome the Oakland Athletics to Wrigley Field for the start of a three-game series. Kyle Hendricks will take the ball in the game, which is set to get underway at 7 p.m.
