Bryant, who hit his 21st home run of the season on Wednesday afternoon, struck out during an at-bat in the fifth inning of the game, then was removed from the lineup between frames.
According to the Cubs, Bryant was removed from the game because of right knee soreness. They did not provide a further update on his status.
David Bote came into the game to replace Bryant at third base.
At the same time, Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo was ejected from the contest after getting into an argument with home plate umpire Jordan Baker. Rizzo was not happy with a strike that Baker had called during the at-bat, and was tossed after the inning ended.
