According to a report, the Chicago White Sox are preparing to say goodbye to one of their best power bats.
Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reports that the team will not offer a contract to third baseman Matt Davidson, allowing him to become a free agent.
Davidson hit 20 home runs and drove in 62 RBI for the White Sox last season, but he also made a big impact on the mound, appearing in three games and giving up no earned runs and only one hit in those appearances.
The White Sox will also have a decision to make with outfielders Leury Garcia and Avisail Garcia before the 7 p.m. deadline on Friday.
