Chicago White Sox Acquire Manny Bañuelos from Dodgers

The Chicago White Sox made a roster move Thursday, acquiring pitcher Manny Bañuelos from the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Bañuelos has appeared in seven career big league games, all with the Atlanta Braves in 2015. Since then, the 27-year-old has bounced around the minor leagues, spending the 2018 season with the Dodgers’ Triple-A affiliate in Oklahoma City.

In 31 games, Bañuelos posted a 3.73 ERA and struck out 127 batters while walking 42 in 108.2 innings of work. He started 18 games and appeared as a reliever in 13 more.

In exchange, the White Sox sent minor league infielder Justin Yurchak to the Dodgers. Drafted in 2017, Yurchak batted .256 with one home run and 36 RBI in 363 plate appearances for Single-A Kannapolis this season.
