Cubs Set to Launch TV Network in 2020, Reports Say

The network will be called "Marquee," according to the reports

According to multiple reports, a long-rumored Chicago Cubs television network will come to fruition within the next few years.

The network will be called Marquee, according to reports from the Chicago Sun-Times and 670 the Score, and will launch in 2020.

It is not known how many Cubs games will air on the network, but the team will play its last season of baseball on NBC Sports Chicago during the 2019 campaign, according to the repots.

What remains unclear is which media company the Cubs will partner with to distribute their content. One report suggested that the team would partner with Sinclair Broadcasting in the new venture, but other reports have contested that assertion, suggesting that Sinclair is indeed a leader in the race to carry Cubs games but that no deal has been reached.

Meanwhile, the Chicago White Sox, Blackhawks, and Bulls will all remain with NBC Sports Chicago, according to the reports.
