Cubs Shift Start Time for Game vs. Marlins Wednesday Due to Weather

The game will be moved up to 6:35 p.m. due to weather concerns

The Chicago Cubs have moved up the start time of their Wednesday game against the Miami Marlins due to weather concerns.

According to a press release issued by the team, the game will now start at 6:35 p.m. instead of the originally scheduled 7:05 p.m. start time. Gates will still open at 5:05 p.m., the team said.

The NBC 5 Storm Team forecasts that rain could impact the Chicago-area beginning at 9 p.m., with scattered thunderstorms potentially hammering the area. That rain is forecasted to continue through the morning commute Thursday, dumping more rain on an area still recovering from last week’s deluge.

The Cubs are hoping to take advantage of a lull in the weather, which will bring sunny skies and cool temperatures to the city.

Kyle Hendricks will be on the mound for the Cubs as they attempt to win their second straight game, and their ninth in their last 10 contests.
