Chicago Cubs Pitching Coach Jim Hickey Steps Down

Chicago Cubs pitching coach Jim Hickey stepped down Tuesday “for personal reasons,” the team announced.

The team is currently searching for a replacement, the Cubs said.

President of baseball operations Theo Epstein thanked Hickey for his time with the team.

“Jim Hickey notified us yesterday of his decision to step down as pitching coach and leave the organization for personal reasons,” Epstein said in a statement. “We thank Jim for his season with the Cubs and his positive impact on our pitchers. Jim has our full support and we all wish him well.”
