The Chicago Cubs have been bitten by the injury bug again, placing Mike Montgomery on the disabled list.

Montgomery, who has found a place in the starting rotation after injuries to Yu Darvish, has a 3.62 ERA and a 4-4 record this season. He will miss time due to shoulder inflammation, according to the team.

Pitcher Randy Rosario, who has pitched in relief for the Cubs this season, was recalled from Triple-A Iowa to replace Montgomery.

Montgomery was slated to pitch on Saturday against the Pittsburgh Pirates, but his turn in the rotation will be taken by Tyler Chatwood. 

Chatwood, who was demoted to the bullpen earlier this season, has a 4-5 record and a 5.06 ERA in 22 appearances this season.
