Chicago Cubs Place Kyle Hendricks on 10-Day Injured List

Hendricks is dealing with inflammation in his right shoulder, the team said

The Chicago Cubs’ rotation has been dealt a blow on Saturday, as hurler Kyle Hendricks has been placed on the injured list with inflammation in his right shoulder.

Hendricks, who pitched on Friday night in Los Angeles, has posted a 3.36 ERA in 14 starts with the Cubs this season. The hurler has a 7-5 record and 75 strikeouts in 88.1 innings of work thus far on the campaign.

Hendricks will be eligible to return to the active roster on June 25, meaning that he will miss at least one start for the North Siders.

To replace Hendricks on the roster, the Cubs have recalled pitcher Rowan Wick from Triple-A Iowa. Wick has pitched in 19 games in Iowa this season, with three saves and a 2.30 ERA in those appearances.

The Cubs, who have lost their first two games against the Dodgers, will try to bounce back on Saturday night against the Dodgers. First pitch is scheduled for 8:10 p.m.
