Chicago Cubs Infielder Kris Bryant Returns to Lineup Wednesday

Bryant has missed the team's last two games due to injury

The Chicago Cubs will get a boost on Wednesday as infielder Kris Bryant will return to the field after missing the team’s last two games due to injury.

Bryant left Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds after colliding with outfielder Jason Heyward on a fly ball, and he missed the team’s first two contests against the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park.

Bryant will not play in the field on Wednesday, and he will instead serve as the designated hitter and bat second in the series finale against Houston.

Javier Báez will bat fourth and play third base in the game, and David Bote will slide into the second base spot in the lineup for the Cubs as they try to salvage a game against the defending American League West champions.
