Fan Jumps Into Lake Michigan After Ian Happ Home Run Vow

Chicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ’s lead-off home run not only got the team off to a great start on Opening Day, but it ensured a very cold moment for one of the team’s fans.

That fan, Bleacher Nation writer Michael Cerami, vowed before the game that he would jump into Lake Michigan if Happ led off the contest with a home run:

True to his word, Cerami jumped into the lake after the long ball, and his dedication and honesty caught the attention of Happ himself:

The Cubs’ offense ultimately found its footing against the Marlins, as the team cruised to an 8-4 victory.

h/t to Bleacher Nation for sharing the video of Cerami's brave jump.
