The Chicago Cubs may be on the brink of elimination as they head to Cleveland for Game 6 of the World Series, but that didn't seem to spook them from leaving Chicago in true Cubs style this Halloween. 

The team, with some players dressed up in costume, boarded busses just after 7 p.m. as they began their trip to Ohio. 

First baseman Anthony Rizzo fittingly donned a superman costume while Cubs manager Joe Maddon was unsurprisingly unique -- wearing a tophat and a patterned suit. 

Cubs President Theo Epstein even dished out candy to some of the loyal fans lined up to send the team off in style. 

The Cubs had a day off Monday before they resume the World Series with the Cleveland Indians in Game 6, but the players weren't using the day to practice. In fact, they didn't even spend it at the ballpark.

Instead, Joe Maddon gave the players the opportunity to spend Halloween with their families.

One of the players that took advantage of the day off was Dexter Fowler, as he took his family out for some trick-or-treating fun before the team heads back to Ohio:

The Cubs stayed alive in the World Series on Sunday night with a 3-2 win over the Indians, and they are hoping to play two more games in Cleveland on Tuesday and Wednesday.

When the Cubs take the field on Tuesday night for Game 6, it will mark the first time that the team has ever played a game in November and will add once again to their record for the latest that they have ever played in a calendar year.
