Chicago Cubs 1B Anthony Rizzo Says He's Ready to Go for Game vs. Brewers

Rizzo left the team's game against Milwaukee after fouling a ball off his foot

Chicago Cubs fans got some awful news on Tuesday night when first baseman Anthony Rizzo was forced to leave the team’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers, but manager Joe Maddon was able to calm things down after the contest.

Rizzo, who fouled a ball off of his foot during the team’s loss to the Milwaukee Brewers, was removed from the game with a right foot contusion, but X-rays were negative.

After the game, Maddon said that Rizzo came into his office and told him he would be able to play in the series finale against the Brewers, giving Cubs fans a reason to sigh with relief.

Rizzo and the Cubs will look to avoid the sweep at the hands of the Brewers Wednesday night when Jose Quintana takes the mound. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
