Chicago Cubs, White Sox Announce New Seasonal Menus

The Chicago Cubs and the White Sox both announced their new 2019 seasonal menu—expanding beverage and food selection across both ballparks.

“Fans will notice high-quality ingredients and chef-prepared culinary twists,” the Cubs' press release stated.

The Cubs along with hospitality partner Levy are offering new food options including “hand-breaded pork strips with house-made Japanese barbecue sauce, beer can chicken sandwiches, loaded fries topped with short ribs braised in-house and a rotating lineup of limited-time only dishes featuring seasonal ingredients and crafted by Levy’s culinary team,” the release said.

“We really focused on adding diverse flavors, fresh ingredients, and creative new dishes that still feel very true to the Wrigley Field experience,” said David Burns, senior executive chef for Levy at Wrigley Field. “Baseball season and dining season go hand-in-hand in Chicago, and we want Wrigley Field to be a place people come to taste the best flavors of the city’s many cuisines.”

Here’s a list of some new food, beverage and dining experiences you’ll find at Wrigley Field this season:

Signature dishes served across concessions

Pork Tenders: crispy hand-breaded pork strips served with Japanese barbecue sauce and cabbage and carrot slaw

Beer Can Chicken Sandwich: beer-marinated chicken breast served with Dijonnaise, shredded lettuce, tomato and bacon on a brioche bun

Wrigley House Chips: ranch-seasoned chips made in-house, served with Buffalo ranch dipping sauce

Short Rib Disco Fries: braised beef short rib, roasted garlic aioli, queso fresco and green onions atop crispy fries

Italian Seasoned Chicken Sandwich: Italian-seasoned grilled chicken with controne pepper, pesto aioli, lettuce and vine ripe tomatoes, served on a split top bun

Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich: Gruyere, Butterkäse and cheddar cheese with tomato jam, served alongside house-made chips and a creamy pesto dip

Crispy Pork Sandwich: crispy breaded pork strips on a pretzel bun, topped with house-made pickles and onions, creamy Dijon, lettuce and vine ripe tomatoes

Impossible Burger: plant-based meat alternative with the same aroma and juiciness of real beef, served with chipotle lime aioli, American cheese, lettuce and tomato on a brioche bun

Southwest Fiesta Specialty Hot Dog: Vienna Beef hot dog topped with chili lime crema, pico de gallo, tortilla strips and house-made pickled peppers

Walking Taco: Fritos topped with chili con carne, nacho cheese, pico de gallo and pickled jalapeños

Expanded selection of craft beer and local brews

Fans can sip new flavors and varieties of beer, cider, wine and spiked seltzer this season:

 More than a dozen new draft and packaged craft beer selections will be served across the venue from breweries with Chicago and Midwest roots

 Alongside domestic draft favorites, fans will find cream and fruit ales, mango wheats, German style Kölsch, rosé cider and local IPA

 The ballpark also will offer a 24 oz. large domestic draft this season

 Fans can order wine by the bottle served in a souvenir Cubs carafe or sample a rotating selection of seasonal varietals thanks to an expanded partnership with Terlato Wines

Chef Series presented by Maker’s Mark, returning for a third year

 The crowd-favorite culinary pop-up returns to the Sheffield Corner space near the Wintrust Gate with rotating menus from Chicago’s top chefs and restaurateurs beginning early June and running through Labor Day weekend. Look for details on participating chefs and menus here.

Chicago’s favorite flavors

 Wrigley Field is proud to partner with Chicago’s culinary staples. Fans can again enjoy Buona Beef, Garrett Popcorn, Giordano’s, Fannie May, Vienna Beef and more at the ballpark this season.

Similarly, the Chicago White Sox announced "Sportservice, the official retail and concession operator of the White Sox, will feature the following new offerings on 100 and 500-level concourses," according to a statement. "The Goose Island Craft Kave’s menu will again feature more than 90 craft beers, including 36 new options from 17 new breweries."

Here's a list of new food options you can expect to find this season:

Boozy Hot Apple Cider Fans: Ages 21 and over won't want to miss this warm drink featuring Monin spiced brown sugar syrup and Fireball Whiskey.

Boozy Hot Chocolate Another drink: Sure to delight fans ages 21 and over features Jim Beam, Patron XO and Monin toasted marshmallow syrup.

Buffalo Chicken Fries: French fries covered and smothered with shredded chicken, hot Buffalo sauce, creamy ranch and crumbled bleu cheese.

Caprese Sandwich: Soft Buffalo mozzarella cheese, crisp slices of tomatoes and fresh basil leaves are piled on a ciabatta roll then topped with sweet balsamic glaze.

Chili and Cheese Fries: French fries covered and smothered with chili and cheese.

Dessert Sweet Potato Fries: French fries covered and smothered with powdered sugar, chopped pecans and whipped cream then drizzled with chocolate sauce and Nutella.

Dusted French Fries: French fries served with a fan's choice of Caribbean jerk, Delaware Bay, garlic and parmesan, or salt and pepper with Sriracha ketchup.

Fritos Top 'n' Go: This upgraded walking taco features a 3.5-ounce bag of Fritos smothered in chili, nacho cheese and jalapeños.

Greek Fries:  French fries covered and smothered with sliced gyro meat, crumbled feta cheese and tomatoes then drizzled with tzatziki sauce.

Irish Fries: French fries covered and smothered with ballpark nacho cheese, crisp bacon, sour cream and chives.

Jalapeño Poppers: Fried poppers filled with spicy jalapeños, cheddar cheese and bacon.

Nashville Hot Chicken:  This Southern favorite is being called up to the big leagues! The juicy, breaded chicken breast is dunked in a house-made Nashville hot sauce then served with cole slaw and crisp pickles on a soft brioche bun.

Polish Platter: This plate filler features half-pound Vienna Beef Polish Kielbasa sausage and the choice of three loaded baked potato or onion pierogis piled on top of sauerkraut and caramelized onions then topped off with a house-made mustard sauce.

Super Veggie Sandwich: This healthy sandwich features avocado spread and hummus on wheat bread loaded with spinach, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers and pumpkin seeds next to a side of crunchy kettle chips.

Backyard Fire-Roasted Local Sausage Board: Assorted handcrafted sausages served with grilled sweet peppers, onions, assorted mustards and Giardiniera relish on hearth-baked hoagie rolls. 

Bacon Popcorn: Freshly popped corn covered with sea salt, cracked pepper, grated parmesan cheese and crumbles. 

Bang Bang Chicken Salad: Popcorn chicken tossed in Bang Bang sauce and served on Napa cabbage chopped salad with a soy ginger vinaigrette dressing. 

Chicago Fries: Waffle fries topped with the traditional "Chicago dog" condiments. 

Chili Dip: Layers of Levy's famous French onion dip, chili and cheese served with tortilla chips. 

Crispy Pork Puffs: Fried pork skins tossed in three house-made spice rubs and topped with sour cream, onion, spicy barbecue and chili cheese. 

Elote Nuggets: A basket of corn fritters covered with a creamy cilantro lime aioli, queso cotija and a sprinkle of cayenne pepper. 

Fire-Roasted Brussel Sprouts: These sprouts are served hot with bacon and shallots. 

Fried Chicken Salad Sandwich: Fried chicken tossed with mayo, celery, dill pickles and green onions served on a fresh roll. 

Impossible Burger: Chargrilled plant-based burger served with leaf lettuce, vine-ripe tomatoes, cheddar cheese and a chipotle lime aioli on a toasted brioche roll. 

Impossible Asian Appetizer Duo: Pan-fried pot stickers are up first with ginger, scallions, cabbage and sesame with soy chili dipping sauce. Batting second is the crispy spring roll, featuring Napa cabbage, green onions, ginger jalapeño marmalade and Chinese hot mustard sauce. Both items are made with a plant-based protein. 

Mexican-Style Torta: Seasoned pork, avocado, lettuce, tomato, cheese and pickled onions served on torta bread. 

Mozzarella and Heirloom Tomato Board: Seasonal ripe tomatoes and assorted grilled vegetables seasoned with a garden basil pesto. 

Sliders: These mini brioche buns come with three options: loose-meat burgers with a pickle chip and secret sauce, Buffalo chicken or fried-chicken salad. 

Southern Fried Pork Chop Sandwich: Fried pork chop served with caramelized onions and beer mustard on a dusted Kaiser roll. 

Spicy Shrimp Wrap: Tempura battered with a spicy slaw and Sriracha glaze wrapped in a chipotle tortilla. 

Triple Play Burger:  Angus beef patty, fried bologna and bacon topped with a secret sauce and cheddar cheese on a brioche bun. 

Turkey and Brie Sandwich: Carved turkey served with brie, roasted pear and citrus mayo on a fresh roll.
