Chicago Cubs 3B Kris Bryant Selected to MLB All-Star Game

Bryant will play in the game for the third time this season

The Chicago Cubs had already landed a pair of MLB All-Stars with Javier Báez and Willson Contreras having been named starters, but teammate Kris Bryant will join them in Cleveland in mid-July.

Bryant, who has hit 16 home runs and driven in 41 RBis so far this season, will appear in his third All-Star Game, the league announced on Sunday evening.

Colorado Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado will make the start at the position for the game, which will take place in Cleveland on July 9.

Báez will start in the game for the second straight year, playing at shortstop after starting at second base last year. Contreras started as the designated hitter in Washington D.C. in 2018, and will be the starting catcher this time around.
