Bears Blow Out Jaguars 41-3

Admit it. You got nervous when the Bears went into the locker room at halftime with a 3-3 tie to the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars. The Bears were clearly nervous, too, because they came back and scored 38 points in the second half to blow out Jacksonville 41-3 .

Both offense and defense were sluggish in the first half, settling for a field goal on offense, and letting the Jaguars march down the field on offense. But momentum changed with a Charles Tillman interception and touchdown, giving him the franchise record for defensive touchdowns. In the fourth quarter, Cutler hit both Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall for touchdowns, and then Lance Briggs added an interception for a score. Rookie Armando Allen was also able to break out for a score, too. Touchdown party.

Briggs and Tillman both have scored defensive touchdowns in two successive games. The Bears have defensive touchdowns in three straight games.

The Bears front four also put pressure on Blaine Gabbert throughout the second half, forcing him to make bad throws. Corey Wootton had two sacks and forced a fumble.

On the offensive side for the Bears, Cutler and the offense found a rhythm in the second half. He finished the game with 292 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. His main target was Marshall, who finished with 144 yards. Matt Forte had a big day on the ground, running for 107 yards.

Though the Jaguars aren't the best team, it was a statement making win for the Bears because of the adjustments they made in the second half. With the bye week coming up, they have a record of 4-1.
