With the NFL Combine yielding more positive (and some negative) results for the prospects that will be selected in May’s NFL Draft, we have a new edition of Bears Bites chock full of news about the players that could potentially find themselves on the Chicago Bears’ radar later this year.

-We start out first with a couple of defensive linemen that the Bears could potentially be looking at. The first is Aaron Donald out of Pitt, who would definitely be on the team’s draft board….if he reaches them at the 14th slot in the first round. [CSN Chicago]

-Another player that could find himself suiting up for the Monsters of the Midway next season is Timmy Jernigan, who has been selected in just about every mock draft worth reading on the web. [Daily Herald]

-If the Bears decide to go for a safety instead of a lineman, then they very well could have their pick of the litter, with a slew of teams picking in front of them that will likely draft from the crop of outstanding offensive prospects instead of selecting secondary help. [Chicago Tribune]

-One name to keep an eye on is University of Oklahoma center Gabe Ikard, who has a pretty cool personal story that could help sway the Bears if they decide to use the draft to find a replacement for Roberto Garza, whether for the 2014 season or for the future. [Chicago Sun-Times]

-Despite having Jay Cutler locked up for the foreseeable future, the Bears need to develop a young quarterback to take the reins in the future, writes Michael C. Wright. [ESPN Chicago]

-What are Marc Trestman and Phil Emery talking about when they address the media? Hub Arkush weighs in with his translations in this piece. [CBS Chicago]

-Finally, in one of the stupidest stories you’re likely to read this week, a Washington D.C. lobbyist is drafting a bill that could potentially make it illegal for a gay player to suit up in the NFL. His defense of the bill is laughable at best and completely ridiculous at worst. [Shutdown Corner]
