In this edition of Bears Bites, we take a look at the potential suitors for defensive tackle Henry Melton if the Bears don't bring him back, and we also examine more potential prospects for the Bears to keep an eye on in May's NFL Draft.

  • Defensive tackle Henry Melton has reportedly drawn interest from several other teams, and his agent has expressed a willingness on Melton's part to play for the Dallas Cowboys. If the Bears aren't going to re-sign him after an injury-plagued 2013 season, the thinking is that he will have some other options. [CSN Chicago]
  • Speaking of the defensive tackle position, if the Bears decide to go that route and draft a guy to help their run-stopping game up the middle of the field, they could have quite the crop to chose from. [CBS Chicago]
  • What will the Bears' defense look like in 2014? Michael C. Wright has a nice breakdown of what changes fans can expect from Mel Tucker as he retools that phase of the game. [ESPN Chicago]
  • One of the big selling points of any player from the SEC when the NFL Draft rolls around is that they have experience in playing against the best talent of any conference in the nation. Alabama's Ha Ha Clinton-Dix not only has that, but he also played in an NFL-style defense with the Crimson Tide, and he's confident that success will translate to the NFL gridiron. • Finally, we update you on a few stories from around the NFL. The first is that the league won't be forced to make a decision on relocating next year's Super Bowl after Arizona Governor Jan Brewer vetoed a controversial bill on Wednesday that the NFL had condemed as discriminatory. • Also, the Philadelphia Eagles have re-signed Riley Cooper to a five year contract extension. If you'll recall, Cooper was the receiver who set off a firestorm of controversy last season with racially-charged comments he made at a concert that were captured on video. [Shutdown Corner]
