In this Thursday edition of Bears Bites, we take a look at several aspects of the Chicago Bears, including Jerry Angelo’s criticism of Jay Cutler, the Bears’ new offensive line coach, and preparations for an event that Soldier Field will be hosting on March 1st.
-We start off with some coaching staff news for the Bears, as they have promoted Pat Meyer to offensive line coach. Aaron Kromer will retain his offensive coordinator title. “The move will allow Aaron to still be closely connected to the instruction and development of the offensive line while expanding his coordinator duties and free up time to help in the growth of all of our offensive players,” head coach Marc Trestman said in a statement. -South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is lashing out at his critics as the NFL Combine approaches, saying that those folks who are critical of him “can’t play football.” Yes, but they can write, and they also can see what is painfully obvious: the kid has discipline issues that need to be addressed. -With the Bears vacating Soldier Field until their training camp scrimmage there in August, the Chicago Blackhawks will step in and play a game there against the Pittsburgh Penguins on March 1st. The NHL is bringing their rink-building equipment to the Windy City and will start their build on Tuesday. [CSN Chicago]
