Anthony Rizzo Smacks Home Run In Return to Cubs' Lineup

Rizzo returned to the team's lineup just days after spraining his ankle

The Chicago Cubs shocked the baseball world when they announced that Anthony Rizzo would return to the field just days after spraining his ankle, and the first baseman had a surprise in store himself during the game.

Rizzo, who sprained his ankle on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Pirates, was added to the Cubs' lineup just 20 minutes prior to Thursday's opener against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The shocking addition came with dividends quickly for the Cubs, as Rizzo pounded a home run into the left field bleachers:

The Cubs are currently three games behind the Cardinals in the divisional race, but have seven games remaining against their rivals going into tonight.
