Local to Watch: Kristin Hedstrom
Buzz: Despite a disappointing finish Sunday, UW-Madison rower Kristin Hedstrom and teammate Julie Nichols finished strong in their chance at redemption in Tuesday Repechage round. The pair dominated the event, taking first place and earning them their slot in the semifinals Thursday. The gold medal match is Saturday.

Event: Field Hockey

Local to Watch: Kayla Bashore-Smedley
Buzz: After an upsetting loss against German Team USA faced off against Olympic rival Argentina Tuesday night and won. The win put Team USA at a tally of one loss and won win, along with Argentina and Australia. They are set to compete against Australia Thursday.

Event: Swimming 100-meter butterfly
Live Stream: Online coverage begins at 4:00 a.m.
Local to Watch: Tyler McGill
Buzz: Tyler McGill is competing in his first-ever Olympic Games. The Champaign native began swimming at 11 years old and won his ticket to London during his second attempt at the Olympic trials. He will compete in the Olympic swimming event Thursday and once more during the final on Friday, along with teammate Michael Phelps. Event: Windsurfing
Live Stream: Online coverage begins at 6:00 a.m.
Local to Watch: Robert Willis
Buzz: Robert Willis is a unique member of the Olympic windsurfing team. He is currently the only Olympic windsurfer not from California or Florida and is representing Chicago fairly well. After his first two races, Willis was in 7th place. Wednesday’s races left Willis a little lower on the totem pole at 25th place, but not totally out of the running to medal. He is set to compete again Thursday in Race 5 and 6 with hopes of improving his status.

Event: Men’s Volleyball
Live Stream: Online coverage begins at 2:00 p.m.
Local to Watch: Sean Rooney
Buzz: The gold medal-winning team opened play on Sunday with a sweep of Serbia. Wheaton native Sean Rooney and the rest of Team USA looked strong and confident during their first performance in the London Games. Their second competition against Germany resulted in a 3-0 shutout once again. The team will continue the preliminary competitions Thursday when they play against Brazil.

Event: Men’s Basketball
Live Stream: Online coverage begins at 4:15 p.m.
Locals to Watch: Anthony Davis, Andre Iguodala, Deron Williams, Kevin Love
Buzz: The men’s team will attempt to continue their two-game winning streak in their Thursday game against Nigeria. The team played a close match, winning 98-71 against France, and won by whopping 110-63 against Tunisia. Nigeria currently has one loss and one win.
