Sox to Wear 1983 Throwback Uniforms On Sundays

Organization commemorates "Winning Ugly" division champs

The Chicago White Sox will be taking it back to the old school on Sunday home games this season by wearing 1983 throwback uniforms.

The pullover jerseys are red, navy blue and white with "S-O-X" in block letters across the chest. A patch will also be included on the left sleeve in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the All-Star Game, which was played at Old Comiskey Park.

Look for the uniforms on 13 Sundays during the season, starting on April 7 against the Seattle Mariners.

The 2013 team is hoping some of the good vibes from that 1983 team rubs off on the current roster. That squad won the AL West crown with players such as Harold Baines, Carlton Fisk, Rookie of the Year Ron Kittle and manager Tony LaRussa.
