As the Chicago Public Schools teacher strike moves into Day 2, the labor battle has gotten everyone’s attention, including Derrick Rose. Monday afternoon, Derrick gave his thoughts on the strike via his Twitter account.
Rose was educated in the Chicago Public School system and graduated from Simeon High School in 2007 before heading to the University of Memphis for one year and then on to the NBA. While at Simeon, Rose led the Wolverines to back-to-back state championships, the first time the feat had been accomplished in CPS history.
If anyone cares about what’s going on in the City of Chicago, it’s Derrick Rose. But the strike affects everyone and here’s hoping it doesn’t last too much longer and students all over the city won’t miss too much time outside of the classroom.
