With the outcome of the 2011 season pretty much decided for the Cubs and the White Sox, both teams are turning their attention to next year, releasing tentative 2012 regular-season schedules.
The Cubs will open the season on April 5 at Wrigley against the Nationals. Early homestands include a three-game series against the Cardinals April 23-25 and a two-game series against Philadelphia May 16-17.
In a much anticipated interleague matchup, the Boston Red Sox will face the Cubs June 15-17 in a three-game set, their first trip to Wrigley since 2005.
The White Sox begin their season at Texas April 6-8 and will celebrate Opening Day at U.S. Cellular Field April 13 against Detroit. In interleague play, the Cardinals (June 12-14) and the Los Angeles Dodgers (June 15-17) will each play a three-game series against the White Sox in Chicago.
The teams face each other first at Wrigley May 18-20 and then at U.S. Cellular June 18-20.
Both schedules are subject to change and game times will be released at a later date.
