Cubs Reveal Wrigley Field 100th Anniversary Logo

Ohio resident announced the winner of the "Wrigley Field Turns 100" design contest

The Chicago Cubs have revealed a new logo to celebrate Wrigley Field's 100th birthday next season.

Brandon Ort of New Bremen, Ohio, submitted the winning design to the "Wrigley Field Turns 100" design contest and was one of four finalists among more than 1,200 submissions.

"I am excited and completely honored to have my 'Wrigley Field Turns 100' logo design selected to represent this historic ballpark in its 100th year," Ort said. "Creating the design that will be a part of Cubs and Wrigley Field history is incredibly humbling and serves as a benchmark in my career."

The team invited Ort to Wrigley Field on Saturday and recognized his work before the game.

Oddly enough, Ort isn't a Cubs fan. He told Crain's Chicago Business that he grew up rooting for the Detroit Tigers. However, he said he has spent a lot of time at Wrigley with his Cubs-fan relatives.

Ort's logo will be seen on a variety of merchandise, including a limited edition anniversary ornament. It will also be on a patch for the team's uniforms in 2014.
