Bulls Promote Scottie Pippen

Former player will be senior adviser to Michael Reinsdorf

Former Chicago Bulls star Scottie Pippen is moving up in the organization.

The team has appointed the Hall of Famer to senior adviser to president and chief operating officer Michael Reinsdorf.

Pippen has been serving as a team ambassador.

In a statement issued Wednesday, Reinsdorf says the new title will "better reflect his role with the Bulls." He says Pippen has a "great rapport" with the players and that his "generous personality and sense of humor" allows him to "connect with our partners, fans and front office."

Along with Michael Jordan, Pippen helped lead the Bulls to six NBA championships in the 1990s.
