Blago Lawyers Want Interview With President

The lawyers for ousted Gov. Rod Blagojevich want the FBI to hand over the tapes from interviews it conducted with President Barack Obama and top officials in his administration.

The Sun-Times reports that Blagojevich's attorneys also asked for information the FBI has on Michelle Obama, but sources told the paper the FBI did not interview the first lady.

The interviews with President Obama, Rahm Emanuel and Valerie Jarrett were conducted last year, shortly after Blagojevich was arrested.

Prosecutors normally provide the defense with any interviews or other information relevant to the case a month before the trial, but Blagojevich's attorneys said that isn't enough time.

A member of the former governor's defense team said there's just too much material to go over in a month.
