Ald. Frank Olivo (13th) won't be running for re-election, according to documents released by Chicago's Board of Elections Commissioners.
The move clears the way for Marty Quinn, a top aide to House Speaker Michael Madigan, to run unopposed in the Feb. 22 election.
Reports the Chicago Sun-Times:
That didn't happen, and Olivo has decided to put his health ahead of public service, a Madigan spokesman told the Sun-Times.
There's been no public comment from Olivo or Quinn.
