Illinois Races: Julie Hamos for 10th Congressional District

State Rep. Julie Hamos is a Democratic member, representing the 18th District since 1999.  Her district includes Rogers Park, Evanston, Wilmette, Kenilworth, Winnetka and Glencoe.

Hamos, born in Hungary, received her B.A. from Washington University in 1972, and her J.D. from George Washington University three years later.

She has been serving as a Representative in the Illinois State House since 1999.

She has served as an attorney; Legislative Director of the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees; Policy Advisor for the Cook County State's Attorney,

Hamos is running to replace Kirk, who is leaving the 10th Congressional District seat he has held since 2001 to run for the U.S. Senate.
