One of the founding members of the Illinois Green Party, Rich Whitney, is once again running for Illinois Governor.
Whitney is an attorney and partner in the Carbondale, Illinois law firm of Speir and Whitney.
He received his bachelor's degree in telecommunications at Michigan State University. Whitney was also a magna cum laude graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Law. Politically, he has been an active supporter of the labor, environmental, civil rights, women's and antiwar movements.
