Senator Dick Durbin makes his debut on the Silver Screen

It's lights, camera, action for Senator Dick Durbin.

The senoir senator from Illinois will be making his Hollywood debut in Steven Soderbergh's new film "Contagion." It'll be a demanding roll for legislator, who will play the chairman of a Senate hearing alongside Laurence Fishburne.

AP reports that Durbin says he's a little nervous about his one line in the film, but jokes that all the hours on C-SPAN have prepared him for the moment.

"Contagion" is about the spread of an airborne virus that kills within days. According to IMDB, the movie is due out October 2011.

The cast also includes Marion Cotillard, Matt Damon, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Winslet. Also be sure to keep your eye out for special cameos from NBCChicago's Kim Vatis and Pete Sack.
