Illinois Races: Terry Link Running for Lt. Governor

State Senator looking to fill spot left vacant by Pat Quinn

State Senator Terry Link isn’t new to political races. A Stout State University graduate, the 62-year-old Waukegan-native has been a State Senator for over 12 years and is currently the Majority Caucus Chair. Last year alone, Link was able to raise more than $540,000 and was re-elected in Illinois’ 30th district with 42,407 votes.

"I can't think of anything better than being a state senator, but the opportunity is here right now so I think it's time to take a chance," he told the Daily Herald last summer.

He is currently chairman of the State Senate’s Gaming commission, and has been chair of the Lake County Democratic Central Committee since 1992.
