Plano Fire officials confirmed Monday night that officials with Atmos and Oncor are both on-scene, assisting with the investigation. The Plano Police Hazardous Device Unit was also at the home, which is standard protocol. Its K-9 did not detect hazardous materials or explosives on the scene. As a result, the Plano Police Department determined there was no need for evacuation of nearby homes. Electricity and gas have both been cut off to the entire block as crews work to determine the cause of the explosion.
