"I Don't Wanna Live Forever" was written by Swift, Sam Dew and Fun's Jack Antonoff. Antonoff also produced the track.

Antonoff co-wrote three songs with Swift for her smash album "1989," including "Out of the Woods."

Swift has not released new music since the fall of 2014, but has remained on the scene in 2016 in music-related drama. She had a feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian over the lyrics in West's song "Famous," and sparked controversy when she confirmed that she wrote ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris's hit "This Is What You Came For." And Zayn Malik, her duet partner for the new "Fifty Shades Darker" track, was a former One Direction band member alongside Swift's ex-boyfriend Harry Styles.

Since 2006, Swift has released a new album every two years, but this year a new single will have to suffice.
