2 Americans Among 5 Killed in Kabul Chopper Crash

Two U.S. servicemembers were among five people killed after a British military helicopter crashed in Kabul, Afghanistan, officials said Monday.

The helicopter was part of Operation Resolute Support and was deployed in a NATO mission, the British Defense Ministry earlier told NBC News.

Two British servicemembers and once French civilian contractor also died in the crash at mission headquarters, NATO said. Five other coalition personnel were hurt.

There are about 12,500 NATO personnel in the capital of Afghanistan to support and train Afghan security forces.
