Things continue to go from bad to worse for DMX.

The former chart-topping hip hop star, who recently started a year long prison term in Arizona after being arrested for using cocaine and consuming alcohol during a November performance in Phoenix, has been transferred to a mental-health unit within the Arizona State Prison Complex, reports New York.

At his sentencning hearing last month, presiding Judge Christine Mulleneaux speculated that the rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, may have an "undiagnosed mental condition" that could possible be bi-polar disorder.

DMX's manager, Nakia Walker, did not specifically address the claims about his mental health, but did say in an interview with the Phoenix New Times that she was not surprised that he was transferred to the unit.

While in the facility, named Alhambra, DMX will not be allowed to have visitors for a month.
