Pelosi Calls for Weiner Ethics Probe

Two top House Democrats called Monday for an ethics investigation over New York Rep. Anthony Weiner’s admission he’d sent lewd photos and was involved in "inappropriate" online exchanges with at least a half-dozen women. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said she was “deeply disappointed and saddened” by the revelations, Politico reported. “I am calling for an Ethics Committee investigation to determine whether any official resources were used or any other violation of House rules occurred,” she said. Long Island Rep. Steve Israel, a top Democratic fundraiser, added that Weiner “embarrassed himself, his family, and the House.” But he said it was up to the congressman and his constituents to “make a judgment about his future,” a point New York Sen. Chuck Schumer also echoed in a statement. So far, no Democrats have called for Weiner to resign.
