NYT Journalist Hurt After Aid Helicopter Crashes in Iraq

A helicopter carrying Yazidi refugees away from an Iraqi mountain crashed Tuesday shortly after takeoff, killing the pilot and injuring a war correspondent for The New York Times, the paper reported. The helicopter, which belonged to the Kurdish government, had dropped off aid and picked up evacuees. New York Times Paris bureau chief Alissa J. Rubin suffered broken wrists and an apparent concussion, the paper said. Freelance photographer Adam Ferguson told the Times he was uninjured.
