Netanyahu: U.S. Has “No Greater Ally” Than Israel

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told NBC News on Thursday that the United States has “no greater ally” than Israel, days after his reelection capped a tough campaign and amid strained relations with Washington. Netanyahu told Andrea Mitchell, in his first U.S. TV news interview since he won reelection, that he hadn't yet spoken with President Barack Obama since his victory but was "sure" he would soon. Israel's relationship with the U.S. has been strained in recent months, particularly with Netanyahu's speech in Congress this month against a nuclear deal with Iran just as U.S. and Iranian diplomats try to strike one in Geneva. He also pledged, just before the election, not to allow a Palestinian state.
