Wall Street Players Fill Romney Coffers

Invitations to Mitt Romney fundraising events obtained by NBC News provide a clue to whose money is driving his campaign. Steve Schwarzman, co-chair of the Blackstone Group, the largest private equity firm on Wall Street, is an event co-chair at two upcoming events; one in Palm Beach Wednesday night and the other in New York next Tuesday. Each event is expected to raise about $1 million. Other co-chairs include energy executive Bill Koch, whose brothers head Koch Industries; Anthony Scaramucci, who runs Skybridge Partners hedge fund; Alex Navab, a top partner of KKR private equity firm; and a host of other Wall Street players. Mitt Romney's campaign has refused to release his income tax returns and name his fundraisers, which is not required, but encouraged.
