Employers added 209,000 jobs in July as the unemployment rate climbed to 6.2 percent, the Labor Department said Friday. Economists had expected the creation of about 230,000 jobs, but it still was the sixth straight month of growth above 200,000 and the longest such stretch since the Great Recession began. The economists also expected the unemployment rate to hold steady at 6.1 percent.
