Militants Kill 5 in Mali Restaurant

Militants stormed a restaurant in Mali's capital city of Bamako on Saturday, killing five people, including a French citizen and a Belgian citizen, officials told Reuters on Saturday. An official told Reuters two people had been arrested and that the area had been secured. Such violence rarely occurs in the capital, but frequently strikes Mali's war-torn north, where French forces battled to take desert territory from separatist rebels and al Qaeda-linked militants.
