Liz Taylor's Long-Time Home Hits the Market

Elizabeth Taylor's Bel Air home has just come on the market at $8.6 million, reports the Wall Street Journal. The legendary actress resided at the ranch-style home from 1981 to her death at age 79 in March.

The 7,000 square foot abode is reportedly chock full of 18th-century antiques, Aubusson carpets, and Impressionist paintings, according to Curbed. The actress's long-time crib sits on 1.27 acres and includes five bedrooms, a living room with a beamed ceiling and fireplace, a pool, a terraced English garden, and a galley-style kitchen. In true Liz Taylor-style, the screen siren's bedroom takes up the entire second floor of the house and is covered from floor to ceiling in violet fabric, her favorite color.

While the Oscar winner hopped around the globe throughout her career, it is this Bel Air nest where the actress found permanence and stability. Christopher Wilding, one of her four children, remarked, "She never entertained the notion of moving."
