Judy Garland's ‘Wizard of Oz' Dress to Sell at Auction

If you have $1 million to spare, you could own a piece of movie history.

The iconic blue-and-white gingham pinafore dress worn by Judy Garland in "The Wizard of Oz" could become one of the world's most expensive costume dresses if it sells at auction Monday.

The dress is one of the very few complete "Dorothy" costumes still in existence, according to Bonhams, which is set to auction the dress Monday.

Researchers with the company believe at least 10 dresses were made for the film, but most were recycled by MGM and used in other films.

Bidding starts at $1.2 million at Bonham's "Treasures from the Dream Factory" sale in New York.

Other items up for auction include Steve McQueen's racing suit from "Le Mans," Marilyn Monroe's red saloon gown from "River of No Return" and Warren Beatty's trench coat and hat from "Dick Tracy."
