Jonah Hill Making Directorial Debut With “Kitchen Sink”

Jonah Hill, quite possibly the hardest working man in Hollywood, is ready to make the leap from writer and actor to director with a script that made the most recent Blacklist of the best liked but still unproduced films.

“A human teenager, a vampire, and a zombie must save their town from an alien invasion," is how "Kitchen Sink," by Oren Uziel, was described on the 2010 Blacklist (PDF). The film won't be eligible for the 2011 Blacklsit now that Hill has signed on to direct, according to Deadline.

The title is a self-aware reference to the fact that Uziel has thrown into his story every hot movie trope: zombies, vampires, aliens... This certainly sounds like the kind of material with which Hill can run wild.

But before "Kitchen Sink" hits theaters, Hill can be seen Aug. 5 in the comedy-adventure "The Sitter," then Sept. 23 is the release of Bennett Miller's "Moneyball," based on Michael Lewis book about Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane, and is currently working on adapting "21 Jump Street" for the big screen for a March 16, 2012 release.

The kid works hard and has been doing some great work, particularly in the under-seen "Cyrus," as the titular momma's boy opposite Marisa Tomei and John C. Reilly.
