Sandusky Prosecutors Mull New Charges: NBC

Prosecutors in the child sex abuse trial of former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky are mulling charges against former top university officials for allegedly concealing reports about Sandusky's conduct, law enforcement told NBC News. According to new documents, including e-mails obtained by the prosecution, former University President Graham Spanier and other officials discussed whether they were obligated to report allegations of an encounter between Sandusky and a young boy brought to their attention in 2001. In one e-mail exchange, Spanier and former university Vice President Gary Schultz said it would be "humane to Sandusky" not to report him, two sources told NBC News. Sandusky has pleaded not guilty to 52 counts against him, concerning alleged abuse of 10 boys over 15 years.
