What head injury? Melissa Rycroft was not about to let her team down tonight on "Dancing With the Stars."
The reality star, who was hospitalized yesterday after getting hurt during rehearsals, took the floor with the rest of her partners to perform the group's freestyle dance.
"It was diagnosed as a herniated disc in my upper neck," she told host Tom Bergeron. "I officially got cleared, so we're gonna give it a go."
U.S. & World
Rycroft, Shawn Johnson, Sabrina Bryan, Apolo Anton Ohno and their partners gave the crowd a stellar performance to Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe," where they took on the characters of high school jocks and cheerleaders and did so many lifts you could barely keep up.
So did all the stunts work in their favor?
Oh yes. Len Goodman said it was "fantastic," and even gave the group a 10! Each pair ended the night with a 29.5 added to their scoreboard.
But before we saw the first team take the floor, viewers watched the remaining four contestants do their individual dances.
The night of "Guilty Pleasures" definitely made us feel guilty with all the sex appeal going on.
Of course, Val Chmerkovskiy and Kelly Monaco heated up the dance floor with a samba that was "a tad on the raunchy side" for Goodman. Gilles Marini and Peta Murgatroyd's rumba caused Carrie Ann Inaba to literally fall off of her chair after she yelled, "Let the baby-making begin!"
Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy gave a quickstep that proved why Alley is still in the competition. And lastly, Carrie Ann told us something we might have already known: Emmitt Smith has "samba swagger."
Here's how the leaderboard stacked up Monday night:
Gilles Marini & Peta Murgatroyd: 29.5
Shawn Johnson & Derek Hough: 29.5
Melissa Rycroft & Tony Dovolani: 29.5
Sabrina Bryan & Louis van Amstel: 29.5
