A historic house in Hingham, Mass. was damaged Thursday morning after an SUV crashed into its living room.
The owners of the Samuel Lincoln House, built in 1650 by President Abraham Lincoln's great-grandfather, said they were sleeping in their upstairs bedroom when they woke up to the noise of the SUV plowing into their living room.
The driver, identified as a 19-year-old Hingham woman, told officers she swerved to avoid hitting a squirrel in the road and ended up crashing into the house, police said.

She was able to get out of her Audi Q7 on her own and neither she nor the homeowners were injured, authorities said.
Police gave her a citation for "failing to stay in marked lanes," they said.
The Hingham Fire Department responded to the house on North Street around 6:30 a.m. The road was closed for several hours Thursday as crews worked to clear the scene, fire officials said.
The homeowners say drivers often speed around the bend in the road outside of their house.
Since they moved in 33 years ago, a car has hit the stone posts by their front door and three others hit power poles outside of the house.

Since it's a historic home, they will also bring in a special crew that deals with historic renovations to repair a sign that was knocked off of the house in Thursday's crash.
